Series 1 — Modular

Modular

A system unique to Sirak.

Individually cast segments slot and stack into one another to achieve a variety of heights. This system allows the planter to not only accommodate a range of plant sizes but also puts the planter into greater conversation with the spaces they inhabit. Textured details on each model can be altered to further customize the look of each piece.

Atlas — configurable in height

In this example, four segments of Atlas result in ATLAS IV (the Roman numeral corresponding to the number of segments). Like building blocks, they simply stack together; the foot slots into the void of the preceding segment interlocking them and making them stable. Assembled on site in minutes, installation does not require mortar, adhesive or any additional materials.

One Planter, Two Possibilities

Scenario 1 — Outdoors

Planted

Installing the plant material directly into the planter.

Most common for exterior settings, the plant material (along with soil, gravel, and water) can be added directly into the planter. The overlapping edges of the planter create an internal flange directing the water to the bottom of the planter and out the drain port.

The planters can also be made without drain ports in order to use self-watering reservoirs.

Scenario 2 — Indoors

Staged

Plant material is kept in its nursery container and staged in the planter.

Our modular system allows for an optional additional floor to be specified during the ordering process. This creates an internal ledge for the plant to rest on simplifying the staging and maintenance of the plant material.

Any segment can be ordered with an additional floor to accommodate various size nursery containers. The base segment is always produced with a floor as a default.

Customizable Surfaces

Customizable surface textures

Atlas offers both a vertical and horizontal corduroy surface texture. Because each segment is cast individually and made-to-order our modular system allows for specifying the direction of this detail on each segment.

Every model in Series 1 has its own unique surface detail that can be specified as such; Saturn & Orion with a hammered band, Apollo with a finely raked surface, and Janus with a dramatic chisel, while future designs will have their own unique details.
